Horror Trailer Analysis (Final Destination)

Final Destination

This horror trailer uses effects I have not seen in any other horror movie yet. This trailer constantly uses fading transitions as opposed to sharp scary cuts. Bird’s eye view shots are used to show the characters struggle and the voice over is of the main characters remembrance of an earlier conversation, and as he recalls each part: what is said, happens. Similarly to this effect, another character mocks what the main character says-but as he says it, it happens. This sense of irony is what makes the trailer so horrific to watch. Flashes of clips with inverted colour are shown and pathetic fallacy is used to predict the bad events of the movie. I feel this movie gives too much away as the trailer consists of a lot of different clips from the movie.
